Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I need to bring with me to my first consulatation?

A: Bring as much information as possible, particularly helpful would be the following:-

  • colour scheme
  • design ideas
  • choice of mixtures
  • number attending wedding

I have a number of cake books which show cake designs which you can choose from or simply bring the idea in your head and we can work with you to produce your ‘dream cake’.

Q: Can you copy a cake photograph from a magazine or the internet?

A: Yes, I do all the time. I love the challenge of a new idea!

Q: When should I order my wedding cake?

A: Usually 2-3 months before your wedding day is ideal. A deposit secures your order with the balance being due before collection or on delivery of the wedding cake.

Q: Does the final price include fresh flowers?

A: No, your florist should supply any fresh flowers used on your cake design. This way the flowers will match the bridal flowers and theme.

Q: What cake mixtures are available?

A: Fruit, chocolate, madeira, carrot cake and biscuit cake.

Q: Can I choose more than one type of cake mixture?

A: Yes, you can have different mixes in each tier of the cake if you wish.

Q: What size of wedding cake will I need?

A: This depends on the number of guests and if the cake is being served after the meal or with refreshments in the evening. We can discuss this issue further during your consultation.

Q: Can you deliver the wedding cake to the reception?

Yes, we are happy to deliver your cake directly to the reception as long as the location is within a 20 mile radius of our business address (Drumlish, Co. Longford). Otherwise your cake will have to be collected.
